DIABETES TYPE 1 TREATMENT

Type 1 diabetes ( T 1 D ) is an autoimmune condition where the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. This results in a lack of insulin production, requiring individuals to rely on insulin therapy.

Key aspects of Type 1 diabetes:

1. Causes:

Genetic predisposition and environmental factors contribute to the development of          T 1 D.

2. Symptoms:

Increased thirst, frequent urination, weight loss, blurred vision, and fatigue.

3. Management:

Insulin therapy (injections or pump), blood glucose monitoring, and lifestyle adjustments (diet, exercise).

4. Complications:

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), hyperglycemia (high blood sugar), long-term complications like nerve damage, kidney damage, and vision problems.

Current research focuses on:

1. Islet cell transplantation:

Replacing damaged beta cells.

2. Immunomodulation:

 Modifying the immune system's response.

3. Stem cell therapies:

Regenerating insulin-producing cells.

you or someone you know has Type 1 diabetes, working closely with a healthcare team is crucial for effective Management.
